Jungle Gym

Addie has found her own jungle gym right in her room. The other day Andrew told me to come check out what Addie was doing and I went into her room to see her climbing on her changing table. She made it to the top by herself and the reason for her quest...wipes. She was so proud of herself for making it to the top and then held out her hands for me to get her down. Once she was down, however, she went right back up to the top.
Last week I was in on the computer while she was napping, or so I thought, and I heard a thud followed by crying. I went into Addie's room to find her on her hands and knees on the floor, she climbed out of her crib. Luckily she hasn't done it since, I am hoping she scared herself enough to not do it again.

Good Times

Our friends Jason and Cookie Harr came to visit us last weekend. Jason was Andrew's roommate at Utah State. They have a nine month old girl named Olivia, who Addie loved to play with or maybe I should say steal toys from. For the most part Addie was nice and would give her hugs, but I didn't think she would get so possessive of her toys that on a daily basis she hardly ever touches.
We went to Sand Hollow Resevoir on Saturday and had a blast. We had to walk across scorching red sand to reach the lake, but it was worth it. Addie loved digging in the sand and splashing in the water. Olivia was so content to sit in her floatie almost the whole time and soak up the sun. After the girlies went to bed we had fun reminiscing about our Utah State days and it makes me remember the carefree days of college. Hmmm...those were fun days.

Snow Canyon

Last week Addie's cousins came to visit and we had so much fun playing with them. We went to the splash park, swimming, and played the Wii. We also went on a fun hike at Snow Canyon. It was the Jenny's Canyon hike which was just about the right distance for the little ones. At the end there was a slot canyon and Addie had fun exploring in it. Of course I failed to get pictures of any of the other activities, opps.

Addie discovered her shorts had pockets and so she put her smarties in there to save for later. Now she thinks all of her shorts should have pockets and tries to put things in them even when they don't exist.

Binki Buddies

After the reunion we met up with some of our friends from Logan, Brody, Becca and their little boy Tanner. Tanner is two months older than Addie and they had fun playing together. We went out to dinner and whatever the one was doing the other one had to copy, it was pretty funny. They each had matching binkies and so when one had a binki, so did the other. The pictures are kind of dark, sorry.

Family Reunion

Last weekend we went to a family reunion with all of Andrew's family (aunts, uncles, cousins, etc.) in Hyrum, Utah. It was so cold and we were not prepared for the freezing weather. As we were driving through Sardine Canyon a sign said, "caution winter conditions ahead"! I forgot how cold it can be up in northern Utah. We had fun visiting Logan before the reunion started, we went to our favorite Chinese restaurant - Formosa, they have the best tiny spicy chicken. The reunion was at a park and Addie had the time of her life playing outside for hours. There was this huge slide she kept climbing up and sliding down, it was fun to watch her. You can kind of see us in the picture, we are at the top of the slide. I went down with her the first few times and then she wanted to go all on her own.

We barely survived the long trip, Addie doesn't love to be in her car seat. She was usually happy if she was being entertained or consuming some sort of food.
But most of the ride was more like this:
After the reunion we had to visit A&W in Logan so Andrew could satisfy his A&W cravings. It is the only A&W we will go to, because it is the best. The ones connected to KFC just don't cut it. We had a fun time at the reunion, but hope that next time it is a little bit warmer.

Swimming Fun

Last weekend we brought out all of our swim items we had bought on clearance last year at Target. We had a whole slew of fun things to blow up and put in the pool. Addie wanted in on the action and even tried to help blow up her sweet new wave runner floatie. After all of our work blowing up the floaties, we finally made it to the pool only to find out it was freezing! What a bust. I thought for sure we would just get used to it after a few minutes like usual, but not this time. Addie only lasted in her wave runner for a little bit. She had fun playing on the steps of the pool. We went back home where we had blown up her little pool so she could play in it there (forgot to take picture of it), but I think she just had fun pushing around her toy and being warm.

A Little Late...

This post is a bit late, but Andrew took the camera on his business trip last week and so I didn't have our pictures from Memorial Day.

For Memorial Day we had a fun block party BBQ with a bunch of our friends in our neighborhood. There was a great turnout and everyone had fun eating and chatting. We live in a circle and so we gathered there. Addie had so much fun playing with all of her friends and being outside for hours on end. Even after being outside for four hours, she was still sad when we went inside around 9:00 pm. She was super wired and didn't want to go to sleep, she just ran around the house talking and playing. Some chips were spilled on the ground and I found it funny that it was Addie and Maddie who chose to "clean them up".

Addie and Maddie had so much fun sitting in the red wagon. There was a bag of hot dog buns in the wagon and they went to town eating the buns.
