Sac Town and San Francisco

Last weekend we took a long road trip to Sacramento to go to Andrew's good friend's wedding. We survived the 11 hour drive with only two stops and Addie did much better than we did, I was bored as soon as we passed Vegas. The wedding was at the Sacramento Temple and Addie just could not resist playing in the water. The weather was perfect the whole trip, we kept forgetting it was January. f
We left for San Francisco the next day, luckily it was only an hour and half drive this time. We stopped in Old Town Sacramento first to see what it was all about, Addie found the candy shop right off and picked herself up some goodies for the drive. She also wanted to take a ride on the horse, but we opted for a picture instead.
It was fun to drive into San Francisco and see all of the houses stacked on top of each other. We went over the Golden Gate Bridge and on to see the Muir Woods, which are really big, tall trees.
The next day we toured San Francisco on foot and cable cars. All Addie wanted to do was "ride the bus". She loved the cable cars and was not shy at all, she kept talking to the other passengers whether they wanted to listen or not. We walked around Chinatown, ate some lunch, walked around Fisherman's Wharf, and rode the bus back to our hotel.
Andrew wanted to get some pictures of the Golden Gate Bridge at sunset so we headed over there. We went on the other side and down to the beach where the waves were crashing into the rocks, it was so fun to watch and hear. We were trying to take some pictures and Andrew got to close to the water and lost one of his sandals, it was pretty funny. The water was way too cold and it was too dark to try and retrieve it. Addie was so concerned and started crying because of the lost sandal.
On our last day we went to Alcatraz, Addie loved riding the boat to the island. It was a neat tour and interesting to learn about the history of Alcatraz.
We decided we may not make it back here for a long time so we took the scenic way home on the Pacific Coast Highway. We drove down the coast to Pebble Beach, something Andrew wanted to see because of the famous golf tournaments there. It was worth the detour as it was very pretty and fun to watch the ocean crash over the rocks. We had a really fun trip and enjoyed every minute, right up until we left Pebble Beach and knew we still had 12 hours ahead of us in the car.

Cheese and Cousins

The other day Andrew got out the block of cheese for lunch and left it on the counter for a minute while he went into the other room. This is what he found when he came back in the room, apparently Addie was hungry. She took a bite and set the cheese back where it was and went back to playing, silly girl.My brother and his family came to visit last weekend. Addie had so much fun playing with her cousins. The weather was nice so we went to the park to let the kids run free and they did. Addie conquered climbing up the ladder and thought she was so cool. I forgot to take the camera so I only have one picture from the day with Addie and Averee playing dolls. We love it when family and friends come to visit!

No More Crib...or Naps

Last week Addie learned how to climb out of her crib without getting hurt. I thought it was a total bummer, but I was going to have her stay in it another month at least. I went to work on Friday (Andrew didn't have to work) and I came home to a dismantled crib and a twin bed in its place. Addie has not taken a nap since and I miss them immensely. She loves her big girl bed, however, and thinks it's pretty cool. I can't believe how grown up it makes her, she is definetely her own little person these days.
